“The Evil Brothers’ Funeral”

There were two evil brothers who were rich and used their money to hide their wicked ways from the public eye. They even attended the same church and appeared to be perfect Christians. However, when their pastor retired and a new one was hired, the truth about the brothers started to come to light. The new pastor saw through their deception and spoke honestly, leading to the church growing in numbers.

A fund-raising campaign was initiated to build a new assembly, and just as things were progressing, one of the brothers passed away. The surviving brother approached the new pastor the day before the funeral and gave him a check to cover the remaining amount needed for the new building. “I have one condition,” he said. “At the funeral, you must say my brother was a saint.” The pastor agreed, accepted the check, and deposited it.

However, at the funeral the next day, the pastor did not sugarcoat the truth. He boldly stated, “He was an evil man who cheated on his wife and mistreated his family.” After elaborating on the deceased brother’s misdeeds, the pastor concluded, “But, when compared to his brother, he was a saint.”
